Meet Our Staff

Kerri Schmidt, MSE, LPC

WELCOME!  Thank you for taking the time to visit Healthy Hope Counseling.

I believe everyone has the desire to feel loved, accepted and significant.  I seek to draw others closer to the One that can unconditionally provide this, while meeting each person where they are at spiritually. I believe God has placed each of us on a continual journey of growth and change towards the image He created us to be. I am blessed to have the opportunity to live out my passion each day, and help each client experience hope and peace in the way that is needed most.

At Healthy Hope Counseling, I strive to create a safe and caring place to encourage healing through a variety of clinical approaches.  Growth and healing can best occur through a customized care plan utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, family systems, neuro-emotional processing and person-centered approaches, along with Biblically-based principles if desired.

I am a Licensed Processional Counselor (LPC) and have completed a Bachelor's in Science in human development and psychology from UWGB, as well as received a Master’s in Counseling from UW-Oshkosh in 2009.

You are a valuable, unique individual with a story unlike anyone else’s. I believe you are the expert on you, and no one is beyond hope. I offer a safe place for you to explore whatever it is that is keeping you stuck, so you can start a new chapter in your life--one full of hope!

I aim to listen well, drawing out key moments that have shaped your life so that you can see your story from a fresh vantage point. I use cognitive behavioral and solution-focused techniques to help you reach your therapeutic goals. Through incremental steps you will become free to practice new and healthier ways of being in the world based on your own strengths.

Clients benefit from my empathy, creative problem-solving, broad life experience, and non-judgmental approach. My personal walk with Christ and theological training allow me to offer spiritually-focused support for those who prefer that. However, I believe in the dignity of choice for each individual when it comes to matters of faith.

I am a licensed professional counselor. I earned a Masters in Counseling from Lakeland College. I also have a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Bachelors from Princeton University.
