Meet Our Staff
Kerri Schmidt-MSE, LPC
WELCOME! Thank you for taking the time to visit Healthy Hope Counseling.
I believe everyone has the desire to feel loved, accepted and significant. I seek to support others in drawing closer to Jesus, the One who can unconditionally provide this, while meeting each person where they are spiritually. I believe God has placed each of us on a continual journey of growth and change towards the image He created us to be. I am blessed to have the opportunity to live out my passion each day, and help each client experience hope and peace in the way that is needed most.
At Healthy Hope Counseling, I strive to create a safe and caring space that encourages healing through a variety of clinical approaches. I believe that growth and healing best occur through a client-centered, customized care plan that utilizes various therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, strength-based, and brainspotting approaches, along with Biblically-based principles if desired.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have completed a Bachelor's in Science in human development and psychology from UWGB, as well as received a Master’s in Counseling from UW-Oshkosh in 2009.

You are a valuable, unique individual with a story unlike anyone else’s. I believe you are the expert on you, and no one is beyond hope.
Therapy sessions are customized to your needs. My clients report feeling “drastically” better using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic, cognitive behavioral and/or faith-based modalities with me in session. I offer a safe place for you to explore whatever it is that is keeping you stuck, so you can start a new chapter in your life--one full of hope!
Clients benefit from my empathy, creative problem-solving, broad life experience, and non-judgmental approach. My personal walk with Christ and theological training allow me to offer spiritually-focused support for those who prefer that. However, I believe in the dignity of choice for each individual when it comes to matters of faith.
I am a licensed professional counselor and EMDR trained. I earned a Masters in Counseling from Lakeland College. I also have a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Bachelors from Princeton University.

My passion for counseling comes from my belief that God created each of us with a unique purpose. I believe every person has immeasurable worth and value, regardless of what they have experienced or where they are in life. One of the greatest privileges of this work is being able to support others as they heal, grow, and discover the purpose God has for their lives.
I strive for every client who walks through my door to feel welcomed, accepted, and truly heard. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate environment where you can be your authentic self without fear of judgment. I believe meaningful healing happens through genuine relationships, compassion, and God’s grace. I enjoy incorporating faith into counseling for those who desire it while using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate life’s challenges. I work with children, teens, and adults, and I strive to meet each client where they are while tailoring therapy to their unique needs, goals, and stage of life.
I am an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW). I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Norbert College and my Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. My education and clinical training have strengthened my passion for helping individuals and families experience hope, healing, and lasting growth.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and appreciate the relationships that keep me grounded and encouraged. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult season, navigating life’s challenges, or hoping to grow in your faith and overall well-being, I would be honored to partner with you on your journey toward healing and hope.
